About Mahjong Connect II

Mahjong Connect II is a tile-matching puzzle based on the classic "connect" rules, also known as Shisen-Sho. The board is filled with mahjong tiles – bamboo, characters, circles, flowers and more – and your job is to clear it, two identical tiles at a time.

The catch is the connection rule. Two matching tiles can only be removed if you could join them with a line that bends no more than twice and does not pass through any other tile. That turns a simple matching game into a real puzzle: the order in which you remove pairs decides whether the last tiles on the board can still reach each other.

It was one of the quiet giants of Flash portals – the game parents played when the kids left the computer free, and the one many people still reach for to unwind.

How to play

  • Click a tile, then click its match.
  • If a valid path exists, both tiles disappear.
  • Clear the whole board before time runs out.

The game is played with the mouse only.

Stuck? Hints, gentlest first

Hint 1 – start at the edges

Tiles on the outside of the board are the easiest to connect. Clearing them opens paths for the tiles inside.

Hint 2 – count the turns

A path can bend at most twice. If you cannot draw it with two turns or fewer, the pair will not connect yet.

Hint 3 – avoid blocking

Before you remove an easy pair, check it is not the only way to reach another tile of the same kind.
