Snail Bob
He never stops walking. You keep him alive.

About Snail Bob
Snail Bob is a 2010 physics puzzle game by Hunter Hamster. Bob is a snail with somewhere to be, and he will walk towards it whether or not the way is safe. Each level is a little machine of platforms, bridges, elevators, fans and traps, and Bob crawls steadily from the entrance towards the exit pipe. Your job is to operate the machine so that he gets there in one piece.
You do that by clicking: buttons that move platforms, levers that raise bridges, switches that turn fans on and off. You can also click Bob himself to stop him while you set things up. Timing and order are everything – a bridge raised a second too late, or a fan switched on in the wrong direction, ends the attempt. Levels restart instantly, so trial and error is part of the fun.
How to play Snail Bob
- Click Bob to stop him or let him walk again.
- Click buttons and levers to move parts of the level.
- Get Bob to the exit to finish the level, and look for the hidden stars on the way.
The game is played with the mouse only.
Why it is loved
Snail Bob is the ideal "first puzzle game": no reading, no time pressure and plenty of silly animations when things go wrong. For more, browse the puzzle & physics box – Home Sheep Home and Good Night, Mr. Snoozleberg work the same way.
Stuck? Hints, gentlest first
Hint 1 – stop Bob first
Click Bob to make him stop and hide in his shell. Look at the whole level before letting him walk on.
Hint 2 – order matters
Most levels need two or three things done in a specific order. Try each button or lever while Bob waits, and watch what it changes.
Hint 3 – find the stars
Each level hides small stars in the scenery – look for them in corners and behind objects. They are optional, but collecting them is the real challenge.
Snail Bob was released in 2010 by Hunter Hamster and grew into a long-running series with Bob heading into forests, ancient Egypt and even space. Its cartoon world and gentle humour made it a favourite of younger players, while the hidden stars kept older ones busy.
