Space is Key
One key. Perfect timing.

About Space is Key
Space is Key is a minimalist reflex game that uses exactly one key – the space bar. A small square runs automatically across the screen, and pressing space makes it jump. Spikes, walls and gaps block the way, and touching anything means starting again from the beginning of the stage.
What sounds simple turns into a test of rhythm. Obstacles come in patterns, the speed and layout change from stage to stage, and the colourful, pared-back visuals keep your attention on timing alone. Each attempt lasts seconds, failure resets instantly, and the urge to try "just once more" is very strong.
It belongs to the late-Flash family of "simple but brutal" games, alongside The World's Hardest Game.
How to play
- Press space to jump.
- Avoid every obstacle to reach the end of the stage.
Click inside the game first so it receives your key presses.

Stuck? Hints, gentlest first
Hint 1 – listen to the rhythm
Each stage has a rhythm. Watch a couple of attempts and tap along before you try to beat it.
Hint 2 – press, don't hold
A quick tap of the space bar gives a short, predictable jump. Holding or mashing makes timing harder.
Hint 3 – reset your focus
Restarting is instant. After a string of failures, take a breath – this game rewards calm more than speed.
